Prospective clients should enter into a written agreement with the Hunting Operator with regard to daily rate, number of days to be charged, species to be shot, price for each species, cost of non-hunting visitors. They should also enquire about taxidermy and shipping costs, travel arrangements and in-transit accommodation.

All Operators must be registered and licenced with the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority. Operators are responsible for obtaining the permits and supplying the necessary services such as camp accommodation, catering, trackers, skinners, vehicles and a Zimbabwe qualified Pofessional Hunter.

Hunting in Zimbabwe is on a sustainable use basis with quotas issued for each concession. Quotas for protected species such as elephant, leopard, cheetah and crocodile are granted by CITES annually.
